The Moments

There are so many moments in our lives where we look for the next thing to happen. That promotion, the vacation, the next birthday, the holiday, etc. You name it, we expect it. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with the gift of expectation in what we’re praying for & seeking from God, while enjoying what He has blessed us with—but what happens in the moments where we realize that we’re where God wants us to be—for now, as part of our life’s journeys. Most times, the next “thing” won’t happen until His timing comes & with His timing comes change as well.

You could be in your current position at work to be a blessing to someone else. You could be the voice of God that they hear daily; they can even see God in you when you walk, talk, & act according to how He wants you to be. Handling the tough situations that arise with what may appear to be “ease” to others, but it’s really God in you, stepping in to intercede on your behalf. But what happens if you handle the job with the looking forward to the next thing, without handling your current season the way that He wants you to? There could be that missed opportunity to reach someone for God.

Sometimes we underestimate the gifts of timing & change by missing the now & living in the tomorrow. Think of the things that you prayed for that didn’t come until His timing. If God gave it to you before you & “it” were prepared, the end result could’ve been something you definitely didn’t need or want—at that time. But in the waiting came preparation, in the waiting came change in you for growth & faith, in the waiting God created open doors & blessings that could only come from Him.

So what happens in those moments where we realize that we’re where God wants us to be? We live in the now—His now—without hesitation, but with the expectation that His timing is always on time & that the changes He’s putting us through are part of His plan for us. The moments aren’t meant to be rushed through at a high speed, but truly LIVED with appreciation for what they are & for who they are developing us to be.

Until next time.

Blessings,
