It’s Okay to Pray, But…

Yes, “prayer works and prayer changes things,” as many of us know and have testimonies to share.  But what happens when you’re praying and praying and not taking any action.  It’s okay to pray, but God may be waiting on you to step into what He’s calling you to do next.

Sometimes prayer can be used as a crutch rather than for God’s intended purpose.  Some are saying the same prayer year after year, while dragging their feet on what God has already revealed for them to do.  This is not the same as waiting for God to answer a prayer in His timing.  Instead this is a form of procrastination, usually tied to fear or tied to the idea that God will change His mind about what He’s telling the individual to do.

Does any of this sound familiar?  Does it coincide with actions you’re taking or not taking?  What is the thing that you’re not doing that God told you to do?!  At times, we have come across that one thing that we feel God could’ve answered differently, yet His answer is still the same.  He’s constant and unchanging.

James 2:17 NLT reminds us: So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

If you truly have faith, believe God and the answer(s) that He’s revealed to you.  He knows what’s best and He knows what’s on the other side of what you’re seeking.

You’re waiting on God, but He’s waiting on you to do what He’s guiding you to do.

Until next time.

Blessings,
