I recently celebrated a birthday! It’s always a blessing to celebrate another year of life. As I reflected on this past year, I was reminded of God’s goodness. There were many ups (wedding planning, our wedding, other celebrations, and so much more) and there were some challenges (a friend who remains missing, loss of friends, daily life occurrences, and so much more), but God is still God.
Of course God is still God and He’s always there; even in me knowing this, my faith has been challenged during this past year. My mind couldn’t help but drift through my faith journey. It has had its ups and downs too. There are things that I’ve prayed for that have come to be; there are other things that I’ve prayed for that I’m still waiting on. I couldn’t help but ask myself, “Will these things happen?” However, the truth is, God’s timing is not our timing. It may seem like forever to us, yet with God, His answers are right on time! AND we can all say something about His timing and His answers being different than what we expected.
Though the waiting can be difficult, we must allow God to work on the things we’re seeking and what He’s preparing us for. Just like a birthday, we may count down to the celebration and when it arrives, we appreciate it all the more. We can’t doubt God and what He can do. Faith is believing Him in spite of what things may look like or how long they may take to happen. God is always on time.
Don’t lose hope; keep the faith and know that God hears you.
