Open the Box

Have you ever checked your closet or belongings & found that item that still has the sales tag on it? The item that has yet to be used?? Well the other day, I “found” this brand new rice cooker I had yet to use. When I say “brand new”, I mean still in-the-box, yet to be opened (& I won’t share with you how long it’s been in the box). Now I don’t know why I hadn’t used this item yet, but the fact is, it was still in the box! Which is amazing considering how much I love rice & using a rice cooker would make it so much easier to prepare 🙂

What exactly was I waiting for? Needless to say, I took the advice of a friend who reminded me previously not to leave anything unused. She reminds me constantly that there’s nothing in her closet that has a tag on it & that hasn’t been worn. Basically, if you don’t use it, who will? I was thinking this about the rice cooker! LOL. If something happened to me, then someone will feel like they’ve gotten a brand new item to use. Boy, this was somewhat of an eye-opener. Not because someone else would have it, but because I didn’t enjoy what was given to me.

What tagged items do you still have? What box needs to be opened? Use these items! Don’t wait for another day, as it’s not guaranteed. The next moment isn’t promised to us, but yet we live on the pretense that it is.

So as we head into Christmas & some receive the gifts that we’ve been looking for (& a few surprises too), don’t put off enjoying the time, gifts, & such with your family & friends. If you get that bike, ride it! If you receive that new sweater, put it on! If you get plane tickets to go somewhere, go on that trip. More importantly, if you’re spending time with loved ones, remember the memories you make!!!

Until next time.

Blessings,
