Daily Scriptures 8/30/10

Scripture: Leviticus 19:12 Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the LORD. (NIV)

Nugget: Many people use the Lord’s name in vain, with no regard to how disrespectful & damaging this action can be. His name is definitely not one that should be taken out-of-context or disrespected. His name is above all names & should be treated as such. There’s no one & nothing like the Lord; His name alone is powerful!

How do you use the Lord’s name? Do you hold it in high reverence or use it in some other manner?

Quote: “People do not know what the Name of God can do. Those who repeat it constantly alone know its power. It can purify our mind completely…The Name can take us to the summit of spiritual experience.” –Swami Ramdas
