Confidence

Do you ever feel that you confidence wavers? Even if it depended on the situation or circumstance at hand? For instance, you may be very confident in your duties at work, but waver in your confidence regarding losing weight. Does wavering confidence actually reflect faith, or lack thereof?

I’ve been thinking on these things lately because it feels as if my confidence is being tested in more areas of my life. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but allows me to know that there are areas that need improvement; which is good because I know that growth is a continuous process.

I guess the “funny” thing is, some of the things that I’ve been tested in recently have been the things that I figured I had the most confidence in about myself, but this obviously isn’t the case 🙂 However, I’m glad for the other challenging areas that present a chance to learn & to grow.

I’m not by any means saying this revealing of my confidence levels has been easy, but it allows me to think further than I originally imagined I could. It also allows me to examine my heart & mind about where I want to be & what I want in many areas of my life. At times, I do find myself fearing a few things along the way, but I check my faith, knowing that God is working on me. He’s in complete control.

If you feel your confidence wavering, don’t dwell on your confidence being shaken, but focus on what God is trying to teach you & get you to know about yourself in the process. Although the challenge may be tough, don’t allow it to overcome you to the point you don’t see the opportunity (or opportunities) in the challenge. I’m continuously reminding myself that God has so much in store & this is the process to get me there.

Sometimes, the shaking of our confidence is just what we need in order for God to elevate us. However, don’t let this shake your foundation in God or the faith that you have.

Welcome the challenges ahead!

Until next time.

Blessings,

  1. It's awesome that God knew the things we'd experience before we were even born. That's why Proverbs 3:26 tells us that the Lord shall be our confidence.
