Daily Scriptures 4/16/13

Scripture: Isaiah 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. (NKJV)

Nugget: When I read this scripture, the first thought that came to mind was “breakthrough”. The breakthrough after a long battle, struggle, or sickness. This breakthrough could be anything that someone sees as a hindrance or difficulty to him/herself.

I think it’s a reminder that God is on our side through whatever we’re going through. Most times when we’re facing something, we don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. To me, light is symbol of life—something greater on the other side of our struggles or battles. God gave us Jesus as our guiding light through our difficulties (He’s also our light during good times too).

This scripture even mentions “the glory of the Lord” being our “rear guard”. Wow, what a reminder that God sees fit to be in us, around us, & even “watching our backs”!! Don’t ever think that you’re alone in what you’re facing; God has it all covered, leading us to our breakthrough! What a great God we serve.

Quote: “When people patiently and expectantly wait on God in the midst of horrible circumstances, suddenly God breaks through. So don’t give up! Don’t stop believing! Stay full of hope and expectation. God’s power is limitless, and He’ll break through for you.” -Joyce Meyer
