Daily Scriptures 12/10/12

Scriptures: John 15:18&20 18“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 20Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. (NKJV)

Nugget: Jesus was talking to His disciples in these scriptures. He was letting them know what was to come & what had already passed. The thing is, Jesus reminded them that what they would be experiencing was something He already had been through.

Most times, when we’re going through something, we feel as if we’re all alone or the only one who’s ever experienced it. At these times, I catch myself & say, “If I’m going through this, Jesus definitely went through more & has already experienced it.” These scriptures remind me of this.

No matter what you’re going through, Jesus has been there; He’s “been there & done that”. If they did it to Him & He’s experienced it, why wouldn’t we have some of those same things happen to us? So why not lean on Him, His mercy, & strength to make it through it?

Quote: “Once we recognize our need for Jesus, then the building of our faith begins. It is a daily, moment-by-moment life of absolute dependence upon Him for everything.” -Catherine Marshall
